Italian Venetian Style Composite Stone Well Head
An impressive Italian made composite stone garden Well in the style of a heraldic Venetian Well Head.
Created in the Mid to Late 20th Century by the Italian makers ITALGARDEN with the makers name clearly stamped to the rim.
The well stands upon a sectional composite stone base with a circular hole within the flags. The well Head has distinctive arched details above heraldic shields and rosettes, the kind of decoration that adorned pieces made originally for Italian Noble palazzos particularly around the time of the Renaissance in Italy. The top of the well Head features an ornate wrought iron work overthrow which rises above the basin, the top of the iron work has a delicate pointed curled finial, surmounting ‘C’ and ‘S’ scrolls.
This wonderful piece stands alone as a dramatic statement in your garden, but could be converted into a large planter, displayed without the (detachable) iron overthrow, or reimagined as a water feature bubbling away.
